Definición de la modestia
Al-Haya’ (este término abarca un gran número de conceptos que deben ser tomadas en conjunto, entre los que se auto-respeto, la modestia, la timidez y escrúpulos, etc) es un aspecto en la vida cotidiana del ser humano, que las personas intentan equilibrar entre aquello que le enorgullece y entre aquellos que le avergüenza. Y es lo contrario a aquellas personas que se vanaglorian. Y estos dos aspectos son naturales y adquiridos. Las personas se dividen en dos partes: hay quien cuenta con mucha modestia y quienes no tienen tanta modestia. Y eso ocurre con los que se vanaglorian. Y en este caso la mejor situación son los modestos.
Dos tipos de modestia, según Ibn Rajib.
1. A quienes de forma innata son modesto, una virtud de Allah. Como dijo el Profeta (la paz y las bendiciones de Allah sean con él): “La modestia, solo trae bondad” (الحياء لا يأتي إلا بخير). La bondad te aleja de los hechos inmorales, y es una base de la fe.
2. La modestia te proporciona la cercanía a Allah, gracias a este tipo de comportamiento, el ser humano teme más Allah, siente devoción por Allah. Y la modestia es uno de los rangos más altos en la moralidad, en los buenos comportamientos y en los buenos modales. Y sin modestia, el ser humano pierde la moral, comete lo ilícito y es como si no tuviera fe en Allah.
Existe un hadiz que reconoce a la modestia como una forma de fe. De Ibn Umar (que Allah sea complacido con ellos) dijo que el Profeta (la paz y las bendiciones de Allah sea con él) pasó cerca de un hombre de Al Ansar, mientras este aconsejaba a un hermano sobre la modestia, y dijo el Profeta: La modestia es parte de la fe. (Transmitido por Bujari). دَعْهُ فَإِنَّ الْحَيَاءَ مِن الْإِيمَانِ
Y de Abu Huraira (que Allah sea complacido con él) narró: el Profeta (la paz y las bendiciones de Allah sea con él) dijo: La fe (creencia) se compone de más de sesenta sucursales (es decir, partes) y Al-Haya` (Este término abarca un gran número de conceptos que deben ser tomadas en conjunto, entre los que se encuentra auto-respeto, la modestia, la timidez y escrúpulos, etc) es una parte de la fe. (Transmitido por Bujari).
الْإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً, وَالْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِن الْإِيمَانِ
Los beneficios de la modestia:
1. La modestia es una parte beneficiara avalada por todas las secciones religiosas. Y el instinto y la razón saben de ese beneficio que aporta la modestia.
2. Quien no cuente en su vida con modestia, está expuestas a cometer delitos que son castigados.
3. El deber del musulmán es acrecentar la modestia, y para eso tiene que conocer el comportamiento del Profeta (la paz y las bendiciones de Allah sean con él), y seguir su ejemplo. Que asiste conversaciones de gentes modestas y que acompañe a aquellos que son modestos.
